40+ Officers & ATF Agents Raid Home of Youtube Gun Personality FPSRussia

March 31, 2013 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Politics, Video Perspective

By Wayne Ford  —  onlineathens.com

Nearly 40 law enforcement officers converged Tuesday on the property of a Franklin County man whose business partner was shot to death in January in a homicide that continues to trouble investigators.

U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents supervised the raid geared at finding explosives used by Kyle Myers (AKA – FPSRussia on youtube), 26, because the ATF believes Myers may be violating a federal law regulating such explosives, according to ATF spokesman Richard Coes.

An example of one such video where FPSRussia uses tachonite,  a legal explosive that is detonated by being shot with live ammo:

Federal agents, accompanied by Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents and deputies with the sheriff’s offices in Franklin and Hart counties, raided the Royston residence of Myers. Authorities also raided on Tuesday the 60-acre farm of Lamar Myers, Kyle’s father, in Lavonia.

No arrests were made, nor did Coes know if any explosives were seized. Read the rest of this entry →

Revealed: how the FBI coordinated the crackdown on Occupy

March 3, 2013 in ANON NeWs, Finance, Headline, Occupy, Politics

New documents prove what was once dismissed as paranoid fantasy: totally integrated corporate-state repression of dissent led by Corporate Banks that had Vested Interests in Protecting their Bailout Money, the FBI, Homeland Security and Local Police Forces.

By  - guardian.co.uk

It was more sophisticated than we had imagined: new documents show that the violent crackdown on Occupy last fall – so mystifying at the time – was not just coordinated at the level of the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and local police. The crackdown, which involved, as you may recall, violent arrests, group disruption, canister missiles to the skulls of protesters, people held in handcuffs so tight they were injured, people held in bondage till they were forced to wet or soil themselves –was coordinated with the big banks themselves.

The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund, in a groundbreaking scoop that should once more shame major US media outlets (why are nonprofits now some of the only entities in America left breaking major civil liberties news?), filed this request. The document – reproduced here in an easily searchable format – shows a terrifying network of coordinated DHS, FBI, police, regional fusion center, and private-sector activity so completely merged into one another that the monstrous whole is, in fact, one entity: in some cases, bearing a single name, the Domestic Security Alliance Council. And it reveals this merged entity to have one centrally planned, locally executed mission. The documents, in short, show the cops and DHS working for and with banks to target, arrest, and politically disable peaceful American citizens.

The documents, released after long delay in the week between Christmas and New Year, show a nationwide meta-plot unfolding in city after city in an Orwellian world: six American universities are sites where campus police funneled information about students involved with OWS to the FBI, with the administrations’ knowledge (p51); banks sat down with FBI officials to pool information about OWS protesters harvested by private security; plans to crush Occupy events, planned for a month down the road, were made by the FBI – and offered to the representatives of the same organizations that the protests would target; and even threats of the assassination of OWS leaders by sniper fire – by whom? Where? – now remain redacted and undisclosed to those American citizens in danger, contrary to standard FBI practice to inform the person concerned when there is a threat against a political leader (p61). Drug Wars, The D.R.E. scandal, Operation Fast and Furious and Gun Control – what does this all mean in your future?

February 7, 2013 in ANON NeWs, Documentary, Editorial, Headline, Occupy, Politics, Video Perspective

By Nick Hathaway – roguemedia.org

This is a call to all for assistance in investigating the facts surrounding the events detailed in the story below, if you have information, make it available. Run with it if you find something out and want a pulitzer…  there is so much more to this that no one is talking about publicly yet.

Obama paid a recent visit to Minneapolis, MN earlier this week saying he was here to promote his gun control and weapons bans stance .  The event took place,  not among the public,  but at a special facility, the Minneapolis Police Department Special Operations Center, speaking with law enforcement directly rather than the general public.

This is somewhat interesting considering a number of sheriffs around the country have recently voiced concerns over the legislation and executive orders, some going so far as to say they would not enforce unconstitutional laws.

The peculiar thing about this is it is reported that major players in the D.R.E. ( Drug Recognition Evaluator ) scandal , were at the conference.  This meeting comes on the heels of a major  lawsuit filed last Friday by several individuals involved in being “tested on” by police as subjects in the program.  The lawsuit aledges that police were involved in unsupervised testing,  and distribution of drugs to civilians,  with no medical supervision or regulatory commission, and then dropping them off in the street after just confirming through these tests that they were in fact intoxicated.

This article is an attempt to ask some serious questions about the connections between gun control, the fast and furious scandal, the war on drugs and how all of these tie into the D.R.E. investigation and trial.  There are some serious questions that need to be answered by policy makers and those that are serving in public office regarding these connections. SWAT Team Raids Occupy Organizers’ Apartment in Seattle

July 11, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Occupy, Politics

By:    –  firedoglake.com/swat-team-raids-occupy-organizers-apartment-in-seattle/

Early in the morning, on July 10, a SWAT team from the Seattle police department raided an apartment where organizers from the Occupy movement have been living. A warrant shown to the four people that were sleeping in the apartment at the time indicated the police were looking for “anarchist materials” and the raid was part of an ongoing investigation into militant action that Occupy engaged in on May Day.

The organizers raided are also known to be members of the Red Spark Collective (or the Kasama Project). A press spokesperson for the Red Spark Collective, Liam Wright, told Firedoglake the Seattle Police Department used a “battering device” to knock down the door of the apartment. They went inside. Some kind of a “flash bang grenade” was thrown. Tactical rifles were drawn. They then proceeded to tear apart the apartment destroying a book shelf and tearing down a curtain. Every door they could find was opened. This went on for about an hour and a half before they left the apartment.

Commander X: Anonymous infiltrated by the FBI

May 27, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Occupy, Politics, Video Perspective, World News

Published on May 16, 2012 by

As a preface to this post, we would like to point out that this man clearly says that “this is a war”, a civil war that the governments, corporations and banks that run them, and the media they control have declared on their own people.  In the United States, the right to bear arms does not make any distinction as to if that right to bear arms applies to the only effective weapon left available to the people of the world [computers and information tech.].  As it stands in the current world we live in,  we are sure that most people can recognize that your right to own a handgun or other firearm is null and void if you recognize that the armies of the world now use drones and satellites to target and kill people from afar, before you would ever have a chance…. like the constitution clearly allows,  to stand your ground and fight for a revolution.

Whether you love them or hate them, you’ve without a doubt heard of the hacktivist collective Anonymous. Government officials have claimed that the next major terrorist attack will be carried out over cyberspace, and the feds have all but called Anonymous the next al-Qaeda. Recently an alleged member of the group made claims that Anonymous is perhaps the most powerful organizations in the world. That person, a hacktivist using the handle Commander X, joins us to explain his allegations and discuss the future of Anonymous.

Anonymous – Sabu, Anon, Lulzsec, Assange

Roguemedia editor preface

This is an excerpt from a book it looks like will be released sometime this summer, the excerpt here details what looks like is mostly allegorical evidence from interviews with members of the group LulzSec.  This information is being shared in the form that we found it in, unedited, so that people can form their own opinions.  It should be noted that during the timeframe that this excerpt is talking about Sabu has been working as an FBI informant for months already.  As some readers have pointed out, this entire article could be a further attempt to implicate Assange…  and until the full book is released, or we are able to obtain further information about the sources of information, it remains unclear how factually accurate this information is.  At this time we do know that several members of LulzSec have been arrested, and that at least Sabu has been trying to work with authorities in an attempt to reduce his sentence.  Meanwhile the US and Sweden, whose intelligence agencies have been shown to work closely together, have both been trying to arrange Assange’s extradition so that they can bring him to trial.

Thanks for reading, and remember to keep an open mind.

Operation: Entrapment – Cleveland bomb “plot” masterminded by FBI agents

Federal agents announced on Tuesday that they successfully thwarted plans to blow up a bridge in Cleveland, Ohio. What was left out of most reports, however, was that the FBI was instrumental in plotting the potential attack.

As is the case with most terrorist attacks revealed by the FBI, from the very beginning of the alleged crime until this week’s arrests, the charges introduced by federal agents were orchestrated by undercover agent provocateurs. Read the rest of this entry →

How to Fund an American Police State: Real Money for an Imaginary War

March 6, 2012 in Editorial, Headline, Occupy, Politics

by: Stephan Salisbury   –  truth-out.org

At the height of the Occupy Wall Street evictions, it seemed as though some diminutive version of “shock and awe” had stumbled from Baghdad, Iraq, to Oakland, California.  American police forces had been “militarized,” many commentators worried, as though the firepower and callous tactics on display were anomalies, surprises bursting upon us from nowhere.

There should have been no surprise. Those flash grenades exploding in Oakland and the sound cannons on New York’s streets simply opened small windows onto a national policing landscape long in the process of militarization — a bleak domestic no man’s land marked by tanks and drones, robot bomb detectors, grenade launchers, tasers, and most of all, interlinked video surveillance cameras and information databases growing quietly on unobtrusive server farms everywhere.

The ubiquitous fantasy of “homeland security,” pushed hard by the federal government in the wake of 9/11, has been widely embraced by the public.  It has also excited intense weapons- and techno-envy among police departments and municipalities vying for the latest in armor and spy equipment.

In such a world, deadly gadgetry is just a grant request away, so why shouldn’t the 14,000 at-risk souls in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, have a closed-circuit-digital-camera-and-monitor system (cost: $180,000, courtesy of the Homeland Security Department) identical to the one up and running in New York’s Times Square?

Occupy Santa Cruz Shows Chilling Effects Of N.D.A.A. With Street Theatre

March 5, 2012 in Finance, Headline, Occupy, Politics

occupysantacruz.org

By Ricardo Flores Magón
This past Thursday March 1st, 2012, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) went into effect. The NDAA essentially suspends the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, these being our rights against warrantless seizures of person or property of US citizens, against depriving US citizens of life, liberty or property without due process of the law, and against the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury. The NDAA makes indefinite detention without charge or trial the law of the land for any person deemed by the government to have committed a ‘belligerent act’, without limitations and allows military detention of people captured far from any battlefield. (1)

While President Obama issued a signing statement and a policy directive promising that he wouldn’t use these provisions against US citizens and permanent resident aliens, such signing statements or policy directives do not carry the force of law, and are meaningless “protections” that can be revoked at any point. They do not change that the NDAA is the law of the land.

Occupy Santa Cruz protested the NDAA this Saturday in order to raise awareness on this issue that has not received a lot of press. Protesters gathered at the Court House steps and took the streets in a march to the Clock Tower. Read the rest of this entry →

Any .com a target? US takes down ‘illegal’ website outside America

The conviction of Canadian billionaire Calvin Ayre in the US on charges of online gambling and money laundering has sparked fears that anyone owning an Internet .com domain could fall under US jurisdiction.

The federal judge implicated Ayre and four colleagues in almost $10 billion of illicit winnings paid out to gamblers. Ayre’s four colleagues are currently outside the US, yet face a possible jail sentence of 25 years.

In connection with the charges, Calvin Ayre’s website Bogdan.com was seized and shut down on Monday by Homeland Security on a federal court order. However other Bogdan sites, namely Bogdan.eu and Bogdan.co.uk remain active. Read the rest of this entry →

FBI : Cyber attacks – America’s top terror threat

March 4, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Politics

Organized cyber crime is replacing terrorism as the number one threat to the American nation, says the FBI chief. The bureau is preparing to battle internet-based aggressors with recently created cyber-squads policing the web.

The Cyber Crime section of the FBI website pledges that the bureau is ready to defend America from the cyber space threat. This vow, however, did not help much when the bureau’s website went down after a massive attack by Anonymous hacktivists on January 20.

Over the last few months, the Anonymous hacker community attacked the websites of the White House, CIA, FBI, Department of Justice, US Department of Homeland Security, Universal Music Group, Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and Motion Picture Association of America.

Just as the internet is not a boys’ toy anymore, hackers are no longer boys, either. Nowadays, previously “isolated hackers have joined forces to form criminal syndicates,” FBI boss Robert Mueller said at the RSA security conference in San Francisco on Thursday. These syndicates are often international, so this poses additional difficulties because it takes close work with foreign security agencies to achieve a result in the material world, while the internet knows neither borders nor boundaries, Mueller explained. Honduras – Resistance Front Forms Political Party

March 1, 2012 in Headline, Politics, World News

Honduras’s National Front for Popular Resistance (FNRP) gathered in Tegucigalpa February 11-12 to launch a political party. The name, “Liberation and Re-foundation Party (Libre),” is timely: Honduras is mired in catastrophe.

Its murder rate is the world’s highest. Political violence, crime, militarization, poverty, malnutrition, drug trafficking, and police corruption are overflowing. Landowner thugs kill family farmers; the two-year toll of murdered journalists is 13. The economy shrunk 2.1% in 2009. On February 14 a prison fire killed 350 mostly uncharged and untried inmates. Most died behind doors the police didn’t unlock. Read the rest of this entry →

FBI moves into new Minnesota headquarters, protest outside slams repression

Protest against repression of anti war activists at new MN/Dakotas FBI Field Office (Fight Back! News/Kim DeFranco)

Brooklyn Center, MN – Protesters gathered outside the new headquarters of the FBI here, Feb. 17, to protest the agency’s targeting of anti-war and international solidarity activists. The protest coincided with the FBI’s announced move-in day to their new fortress-like building.

Participants in the protest included peace activists whose homes were raided by the FBI Sept. 24, 2010.

“The FBI is waging a war on civil liberties,” said Jess Sundin of the MN Committee to Stop FBI Repression. “We are here today to send a message: ‘Opposing U.S. wars is not a crime.’ We will not be silenced or intimidated by the FBI.”

The FBI, along with U.S. Attorneys in Chicago and Minneapolis, are trying to make a case for indicting the activists on ‘material support for terrorism’ charges. To that end, a grand jury is meeting in Chicago. Barry Jonas, Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago, recently stated that the investigation will continue. Read the rest of this entry →

Manipulating Reality; Hurting Democracy

February 22, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Editorial, Headline, Politics

Over the past few decades in America, reality has been put in play as never before, with powerful interests using  sophisticated “perception management,” the shaping of how the public perceives the outside world, a threat that Lawrence Davidson says is again leading the nation to destruction.

By Lawrence Davidson

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper talks with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office. (Photo credit: Office of Director of National Intelligence)

In mid-February, an array of top U.S. intelligence chiefs appeared before the Senate Intelligence Committee to give their annual report on “current and future worldwide threats” to national security. Those testifying included CIA Director David Petraeus, National Intelligence Director James Clapper, Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. General Ronald Burgess, and FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Their presentations on what is and is not a real threat to the nation, as well as the reaction of the senators holding the hearings, turned out to be an exercise in one dimensional thinking. What is real? Well, what comports with your point of view. Here are two examples from their testimony:

1. The Enemy Within – Rogue individuals operating “within the ranks” of the intelligence community and armed forces now constitute a major threat to U.S. security. According to Lt. General Burgess these people are “self-radicalized lone wolves.” He pointed to the “recent massive WikiLeaks disclosures.”

FBI Provide Weapons for Attempted Terrorist Attack on US Capitol

February 20, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Politics

If the latest news from the Department of Justice is to be believed, a 29 year old terrorist conspired to develop and carry out an attempted terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

In fact – as the DOJ press release story goes – Amine El Khalifi, an illegal immigrant from Morocco, was arrested in Washington for allegedly attempting a suicide attack against the U.S. Capitol building.

The news reports all indicate that Amine El Khalifi planned this and other attacks over several months, and that he was only captured after a carefully planned investigation was carried out by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

However, when you start digging more deeply into the story than most journalists appear willing to do, you will learn a few disturbing facts about the case that make it apparent this is more of a fabricated attack scenario than a nefarious Al-Qaeda sleeper-agent.

In fact, it is likely that the attempted terrorist attack against the U.S. Capitol Building would never have materialized if it weren’t for the careful efforts of the undercover FBI agents encouraging El Khalifi to act out his extremist beliefs.

Noam Chomsky: U.S. Decline Is Real — and Increasingly Self-Inflicted

February 16, 2012 in Headline, Politics

by – Noam Chomsky – how America “lost” the world.
Significant anniversaries are solemnly commemorated — Japan’s attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, for example.  Others are ignored, and we can often learn valuable lessons from them about what is likely to lie ahead.  Right now, in fact.

At the moment, we are failing to commemorate the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s decision to launch the most destructive and murderous act of aggression of the post-World War II period: the invasion of South Vietnam, later all of Indochina, leaving millions dead and four countries devastated, with casualties still mounting from the long-term effects of drenching South Vietnam with some of the most lethal carcinogens known, undertaken to destroy ground cover and food crops.

The prime target was South Vietnam.  The aggression later spread to the North, then to the remote peasant society of northern Laos, and finally to rural Cambodia, which was bombed at the stunning level of all allied air operations in the Pacific region during World War II, including the two atom bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  In this, Henry Kissinger’s orders were being carried out — “anything that flies on anything that moves” — a call for genocide that is rare in the historical record.  Little of this is remembered.  Most was scarcely known beyond narrow circles of activists. Ten Years Later: Torture, Indefinite Detention, Military Tribunals

February 9, 2012 in Headline, Occupy, Politics

The Indefinite Detention Bill (NDAA) DOES Apply to American Citizens on U.S. Soil

An absorbing article by Andrew Cohen on the Atlantic’s website has reminded me that today marks a very special 10th anniversary. Ten years ago policies were established that led to Abu Ghraib, the secret C.I.A. prisons, the Guantanamo Bay detention camp and torture; that led, in other words, to a period that ranks among the worst in American history for the abuse of executive power, the shredding of civil liberties and the undermining of the judicial system.  At the time, we didn’t know it was happening, because it was done in secret.

Mr. Cohen’s article concerns an executive memorandum with the ironic title “Humane Treatment of Taliban and al Qaeda Detainees.” It was written by several Bush administration officials, including John Yoo (who went on to author the infamous torture memos), and was approved by Alberto Gonzales, Mr. Bush’s mob lawyer – I mean White House counsel.

This memo advanced the notion that the President could honor the Geneva Conventions only when he felt like doing so, and that in any case, they did not apply to prisoners associated with al Qaeda or the Taliban.

Waging War in Secret vs. American Democracy

February 9, 2012 in Headline, Politics, Update, World News

By fighting terrorism with covert CIA actions, President Obama deprives us of the ability to meaningfully evaluate American foreign policy.

The War in Iraq is mostly over. We’re drawing down forces in Afghanistan. Barring an unexpected terrorist attack or another Libya-style troop deployment, Election 2012 will proceed in a world where the War on Terrorism is being waged by intelligence agencies making drone strikes in places like Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, and one in which we may be taking covert action inside Iran too.

In others words, much of American foreign policy will be a state secret.

Think about what that means for democracy.

The Iraq War was a major campaign issue in 2004 and 2006. President Obama owes his victory in 2008 partly to the fact that he opposed it, persuaded voters he’d exercise better judgment if faced with a “3 a.m. phone call,” and vowed to double down on winning the War in Afghanistan.

FBI Enlists Internet Café Owners to Spy on Customers

February 9, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Occupy, Politics

The US government has developed massive surveillance capabilities to monitor communications, travel and financial transactions in this country and abroad. But, even the government cannot monitor everything Americans do—not directly, anyway.  Thus, it created the Communities Against Terrorism (CAT) program to enlist your friendly local businesses as spies for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The CAT program, funded by the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training program (SLATT) is described as a “tool to engage members of the local community in the fight against terrorism.” The program interprets “local community” to mean businesses, and only registered businesses may access the program’s flyers listing “potential indicators” of terrorist activity.

Each flyer is designed for a particular kind of business. For example, this list was prepared for owners of internet cafes. Unquestionably, someone planning a terrorist attack has engaged in one or more of the “suspicious” activities on that list. But so, too, have most of the estimated 289 million computer users in this country.

United States DHS Report, If You Love “Individual Liberty” Of If You “Believe In Conspiracy Theories” You Are A Potential Terrorist

February 9, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Occupy, Politics, Update

Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970 to 2008“, and it was produced by the “National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism” for the Department of Homeland Security.  As you will see detailed later on in this article, the most shocking part of this report is when it discusses the “ideological motivations” of potential terrorists.  The report shamelessly attempts to portray red-blooded Americans that love liberty and that love their country as the enemy.  Once upon a time, deeply patriotic Americans were considered to be the backbone of America, but today they are considered to be potential terrorists.

Do you love America?  Are you against a one world economy and a one world government?  Do you deeply love individual liberty?  Do you believe in conspiracy theories?  If you answered any of those questions affirmatively, then you are a potential terrorist according to a brand new Department of Homeland Security report that was just released in January 2012. The report is entitled “

And this report is yet another example of how the definition of “terrorism” has changed.  A decade ago, the entire focus of the “war on terror” was on radical Muslims and we were told that we had to send our boys and girls to the other side of the world to defeat them.

Well, in this new report there is barely any mention of Islam at all.  Instead, the report identifies patriots, conspiracy theorists, evangelical Christians, anti-abortion activists, survivalists and those that are against globalism as the real threats.

The focus of the “war on terror” has fundamentally shifted.  The “enemy” is now those that love freedom and those that love America.

Government ‘may sanction nerve-agent use on rioters’, scientists fear

February 9, 2012 in ANON NeWs, Headline, Occupy, Politics, World News

by  Steve Connor     -   from independent.co.uk

Leading neuroscientists believe that the UK Government may be about to sanction the development of nerve agents for British police that would be banned in warfare under an international treaty on chemical weapons.

A high-level group of experts has asked the Government to clarify its position on whether it intends to develop “incapacitating chemical agents” for a range of domestic uses that go beyond the limited use of chemical irritants such as CS gas for riot control.

The experts were commissioned by the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of sciences, to investigate new developments in neuroscience that could be of use to the military. They concluded that the Government may be preparing to exploit a loophole in the Chemical Weapons Convention allowing the use of incapacitating chemical agents for domestic law enforcement.

The 1993 convention bans the development, stockpiling and use of nerve agents and other toxic chemicals by the military but there is an exemption for certain chemical agents that could be used for “peaceful” domestic purposes such as policing and riot control.

The British Government has traditionally taken the view that only a relatively mild class of irritant chemical agents that affect the eyes and respiratory tissues, such as CS gas, are exempt from the treaty, and then only strictly for use in riot control.

States prepare brakes on citizen-detention option, NDAA

February 8, 2012 in Headline, Occupy, Politics, Update, Video Perspective

by Bob Unruh   –  from  wnd.com

State and local officials in surging numbers are telling Washington they simply won’t cooperate with any plans to detain Americans the federal government may choose to describe as “belligerents.”

The issue centers on provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, signed by President Obama, for the indefinite and rights-free detention of those Washington cites as belligerents, whether American citizens or not.

WND reported when  Rep. Daniel P. Gordon Jr. immediately drafted a resolution in the Rhode Island legislature to express opposition to the sections of the NDAA “that suspend habeas corpus and civil liberties.”

Now the Tenth Amendment Center confirms that the resistance to the federal bureaucracy is catching on.

The instruction manual on how to restore America to what it once was: “Taking America Back.” This package also includes the “Tea Party at Sea.”

Protest against NDAA at Obama campaign headquarters, Feb. 3 (Fight Back! News/ Jess Sundin)

Minneapolis, MN – More than 75 people rallied here, Feb. 3, as a part of the National Day of Protest against the provision of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that allows for indefinite detention without trial. The protest occurred outside the Obama campaign headquarters. President Obama signed this unconstitutional bill into law Dec. 31. According to Anh Pham of the Committee to Stop FBI Repression (CSFR), “This law allows the government to continue to oppress anyone who doesn’t agree with them.”

Sam Richards of Occupy Minneapolis stated, “The NDAA of 2012 is the largest assault on our rights since the Patriot Act. Obama ran as a champion of civil liberties. We demand an end to the attack on our civil rights.”

This demand rang clear as activists joined in chants, speeches, guerrilla theater and an occupation of the Obama headquarter building as part of the direct action. The message of the protest was apparent, with signs such as “No war on our rights: No NDAA,” and chants like “Hey Obama, pay attention! We say no to indefinite detention!”

In an interview with CBS 60 Minutes’ Scott Pelley, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta revealed more about the secret process the Obama administration uses to kill American citizens suspected of terrorism without trial. According to Panetta, the president himself approves the decision based on recommendations from top national security officials.

“[The] President of the United States obviously reviews these cases, reviews the legal justification, and in the end says, go or no go,” Panetta said.

“So it’s the requirement of the administration under the current legal understanding that the president has to make that declaration, not you?” Pelley asked. Panetta replied, “That is correct.”

When you use the Internet in a public place, do you prefer to have as much privacy as possible?  Well, that makes you a potential terrorist.  According to the FBI, Internet privacy is now considered to be suspicious activity.  If you are out in public and you attempt to keep snoopers from peeking at your computer screen, then according to the FBI they should gather as much information about you as they can and they should report you to the authorities immediately. If this seems completely and totally ridiculous to you, then you are not alone.  Millions of Americans have become deeply concerned about the constantly expanding definition of “suspicious activity” in the United States.  Sadly, the federal government is now engaging in an all-out attempt to have us all spy on one another.  All over America, the Department of Homeland Security is running ads promoting the “See Something, Say Something” campaign.  They even had 8,000 stadium workersat the Super Bowl this year go through special training on how to spot potential terrorists.  So the next time you see a hot dog vendor, keep in mind that he might also be part of a special anti-terrorism task force.

The following are some quotes from a government document entitled “Potential Indicators of Terrorist Activities Related to Internet Café“.  In between each quote, I have included some commentary.  It is absolutely amazing what the definition of “suspicious activity” now includes….

“Are overly concerned about privacy, attempts to shield the screen from view of others”

(WMR)—WMR has learned and has personally experienced the unprecedented assault by the Obama administration, aided and abetted by its intelligence and internal security infrastructure, on the First Amendment right of freedom of the press.

The Obama administration has indicted a total of six U.S. government employees for violating the arcane 1917 Espionage Act for allegedly communicating classified information to the press. The Obama administration, according to multi-agency U.S. government sources , has authorized the eavesdropping of journalists’ e-mails, text messages, and phone calls to determine with whom they are in contact within the government, particularly in the Departments of State, Defense, Justice, the CIA, the U.S. Congress’ intelligence oversight committees, and the National Security Agency (NSA). The NSA and FBI are also monitoring what websites are visited by government employees.

PERF, DHS, and FBI Help Plan Raids

December 1, 2011 in Headline, Occupy, Politics

The past few weeks have seen widespread and often times, strikingly similar brutal crackdowns on peaceful occupations across the country and the world. The question of possible behind the scenes coordination of these raids was quickly answered. The mayors of Oakland and Seattle admitted to participating in a conference call with 18 other mayors that was advised by liaisons from the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI. According to a justice official, some of the advice that was given by DHS and the FBI to local mayors included the use of a massive show of police force, including police in riot gear, as well as advice to conduct raids when press is least able to document police abuses. On 11/17, on DemocracyNow! the executive director of PERF (Police Executive Research Forum) Chuck Wexler, spoke in detail about the coordination that this organization did with police chiefs across the country prior to the crackdown. PERF is a private member lobbying organization restricted to the executive head of a municipal, county, or state funded agency that provides general police services. It’s board includes police chiefs in charge of crackdowns in Miami in 2003, DC throughout the lead-up to the Iraq War, and St. Paul during the 2008 RNC.
